If you enlist, then as an E-4

If you apply for a commission and are accepted, then as a 0-3 Captain.

No one is automatically an officer because of education.

Jessica is probably right... but she's just talking about base pay... There is all sorts of other pay involved. That doesn't include housing costs, etc...

shop around to different branches, one of them is likely to give you a direct commission to O-3, which will give you a good amount of base pay PLUS a bunch of tax-free allowances that are likely to be more than your base pay
