Hello, can someone please tell me if my dad has an eating disorder?

Firstly he is diabetic and obese.

As example today, he went out and bought 0.5kilo of cheese. he ate half of it before 1pm and then crashed and went to sleep because of it due to diabetes (he told us this). he then woke up and ate the rest of it secretly, and has now spent the last few hours in bed.. this is alongside his other meals.. it's 7pm now..

he is always 'rewarding' himself food like it makes him happy or a good thing to eat these foods, and sure itd be alright if eaten in a normal amount for taste etc but it is ALWAYS in X large amounts.. a large carton of diabetic icecream... a whole pot of potato salad or houmous.. a whole pizza... scrapes the rest of the gravy onto his plate even if he barely has any roast left to eat it with..

..when i try to tell him about it he tells me that he's 'done things for other people all his life' like not being able to smash food into his face until he dies is a terrible crime (and he has an amazing life right now, he's not a young lad anymore but for some reason he seems to think eating like this is acceptable for *any* age.. but it never is!!), and that im 'guilt tripping him' when i say it really disturbs me (sometimes to point of tears), and asks me if i want to 'take food from his mouth' when i try to gently advise him, and then afterwards says he 'forgives me' for 'upsetting' him about it.

whenever he eats he breathes really fast and eats hurridly like he's stressed/panicked, its kinda disgusting to watch. he's always complaining he hasnt eaten enough and has to eat more to keep up his energy, but it's always after he's binge ate on sh*t food or had a fry up for breakfast, he's diabetic of course he will (!!!!)

.. on the other hand, he knows how to eat healthily, hes been diabetic for a decade, he knows all about diet proportions of fat and carbs etc etc etc, he's a good cook etc etc...

.. for the last month he has been forced to exercise because he ruined his back and has to exercise and lose weight or it will be permanent but he refuses to get assistance on his diet. im just worried that he's now gotten into his head that if he's exercising that must mean he doesnt need to control his diet anymore.. i think he eats 3000+ calories a day... i dont want him to get into a cycle of exercise and overeating..

*sigh*
