Helibar install (dealership)

I got some helibars installed at a dealership and when I went to park my 848 the bars did not lock. They look like they could be turned out to allow full lock. Dealership inspected and said it wasn't the stop screws (which were adjusted perfectly). It was the angle of the bars and they would need to adjust it. I can come back at the end of the week and leave the bike for the day and it will get done.

He warned that the position will be more outward and said that might mess me up and said that when they were installed they sacrificed some things for usability.

Should I sacrifice the ability to lock the bars or was that some bs made up to save the shop time?
 
The bars should only need to be moved a small amount to clear the locks. It's something you can do easily. Just loosen the 2 allen bolts on each bar and move it out a little. Check the lock clearance, when it's right, retighten the bolts. I had the same problem when I insatlled mine and it just took a minute to correct. The bars still make a big difference.
