Heli bar risers.

Looking at their website, the risers don't seem to rise much.
Anyone have these installed on a 1098? Anxious for an opinion on installation, and if they make any appreciable difference.

Don't have them personally but hear they do make a subtle improvement. I believe you need to watch out for the fairing when you have the bars turned to the extreme left/right as you can crunch your hand.....I am thinking about them for my 848 now as I can't use the SpeedyMoto triple with the FGRT forks I have now....

I've posted previously on this, but I wasn't a big fan of the Helibars. For me, they simply lifted the bar ends higher and rotated the wrists inwards (think of bars being angled "straighter", like a flat-track or dirt bike, and you get the idea). It didn't feel natural on a bike like the 848, and really didn't add a great deal to the comfort side of things. I returned to the stock bars after a couple of weeks. On the plus side they are very well made and certainly other riders have benefited from them.

If you're new to the bike, then sore neck/wrists/back are normal. Give it a few weeks and you won't even notice it. I thought I could never get used to it. Now I've actually swivelled the stock bars inwards and downwards for a more extreme angle...it's all about personal preference, i guess.

PS - I have chronic shoulder pain that actually improves when i ride the 848 - my physio concurs that it's a good thing

PPS - if you want to try the helibars I'm willing to part with them for half-price.......!

I have them on my 748. They do adjust a lot and I think you will like them. I just raised them up to max. top and tilted them back some towards rider. I now take 2 hour long ride every weekend (1 hour there, 1 hour back) . Huge difference than stock, much more comfortable on back, wrist. 3 shoulder operations and one on left arm for the ulnar nerve and tendons problem. They made a huge difference as to how long I can ride without pain.

Yes, the hands hit the fairing a little, but only when doing a full U-turn which I only seem to do when I am parking. I never have had that problem ever when riding.

I have helibars and I think they are awesome. If you adjust them properly they won't pinch you at full lock anymore either. Made a world of difference to my bike. Easy to install as well, took me about an hour with regular hand tools. I have pics of my triple clamp in my winter mods thread where I'm pretty sure you can see the helibars installed. And you can see how much extra height you get with the speedy moto triple clamp also.
