I've posted previously on this, but I wasn't a big fan of the Helibars. For me, they simply lifted the bar ends higher and rotated the wrists inwards (think of bars being angled "straighter", like a flat-track or dirt bike, and you get the idea). It didn't feel natural on a bike like the 848, and really didn't add a great deal to the comfort side of things. I returned to the stock bars after a couple of weeks. On the plus side they are very well made and certainly other riders have benefited from them.
If you're new to the bike, then sore neck/wrists/back are normal. Give it a few weeks and you won't even notice it. I thought I could never get used to it. Now I've actually swivelled the stock bars inwards and downwards for a more extreme angle...it's all about personal preference, i guess.

PS - I have chronic shoulder pain that actually improves when i ride the 848 - my physio concurs that it's a good thing
PPS - if you want to try the helibars I'm willing to part with them for half-price.......!
