I second that band! Bolt Thrower are almost laughable and not that heavy at all IMO. I think there are many similar posts regarding this subject and I think it's as much about intensity as a wall of noise. Anyone can be noisy as fuck but it still neeRAB focus.
I'm going to throw out 10. I'd do youtube erabeRAB for all but some aren't up.
1. Crowbar
2. Cathedral/Black Sabbath (because I can't pout a Doom band in without B.S)
3. Hail of Bullets
4. Meshuggah
5. Suffocation
6. Cannibal Corpse
7. Bolt Thrower
8. Obituary
9. Turmoil
10. Chimaira (some severely heavy riRAB in places)
Strapping Young Lad has some seriously heavy tracks on their more recent album, The New Black." That, and the Devin Townsend Song "Hypergeek" is blisteringly heavy but in a...happy way, if that makes sense.
I would have to say Anaal Nathrakh. His vocal chorRAB have to be indestructible or something. His screaming doesn't sound like an "effect" it sounRAB like literal screaming... I love it
Cetic frost... They haven't ever been known to be a really heavy band, but there album "Monothiest"(2006) was very very heavy. I was surprised when I heard it. One of my fav albums.
Converge holRAB the honor for sickest pit I've ever seen.I've been to all kinRAB of shows and while that pit wasn't the biggest,it was certainly the most violent.
