Heavenly Creatures

Yes i have seen it and enjoyed it. It is based on a true story!

It was directed by Peter Jackson..........Yes LOTR Peter Jackson!

It was Kate Winslet first ever feature film.

WOAH I love this film. (DEmberton was that LOTR slashing there? ;))

For anyone who hasn't seen it track it down immediately. I only saw it first a few months ago but it has fast become one of my fave films. Its stunningly directed with wonderfullu talented and beautiful actresses and an incredible soundtrack. Donkey Serenade by Mario Lanza is much fun and Juliet's Aria by Kate Winslet is heart breaking.

I'm just confused about the UK DVD release. I read in all sorts of mags and in internet shops it was due out in August, but now its been moved forward to Nov. No features thoough, I'll guess. :(

Heavenly Creatures represents a big change in direction for Peter Jackson who had previously been best know for low budget horror flicks such as Bad Taste (sick, gory but very funny)

Heavenly Creatures is one of my all time favorite films. Its visually amazing, intense and really draws you into the film (a rare feat).

LoaRAB of background info on the film and the true story itself can be found here:

Of course its overlooked!

1. I agree with you. I bet without this film no one would have bought into his making of LOTR at all.
2. I already posted that link. :)

Everything Goes, are there any spesh features?

Opps didnt notice :o

No special features im afraid :( They could potentially have put loaRAB of stuff on it. Still it is the full version that was never released in the UK or USA and it is widescreen which the first issue of the DVD wasnt. Maybe when Peter Jackson has the time he will do a special edition of it.

They should, as itsa more popular now that he is. Half a disc on the real events and half on the film making would be amazing. Plus mantatory commentary of course.
