Heath Ledger's Joker.

Fair enough, but at the end of the day, when you consider the people who have won Oscars in the past, you'd have thought Heath would be worthy of one.

About Schmidt won an Oscar, didn't it?

He was bloody brilliant at playing the Joker. Heath did a wonderful job in taking a comic book villain and making it so different and more darker to Jack Nicholson's portrayel of the Joker. The character of the Joker is what made The Dark Night such a great movie. I can't wait to get it on dvd.

I think he will definitely be nominated for a Posthumous Oscar and deservedly so. :)

He reminded me of Brad Pitt in Twelve Monkeys. And don't anyone take that the wrong way, I'm not critiscising - I loved The Dark Knight, and hopefully will be getting the blu-ray of it in my christmas stocking!

TDK is the only film I have seen this year where the time has flew by and I have been sitting there in its entirety completely gobsmacked. For me it was the perfect film and I would love to see Heath Ledger get an oscar, but for me there is also someone who deserves it in the form of Aaron Eckhart - he added so many nuances to his character, you could really understand his pain and him going off the rails. Him and Ledger created some truly terrifying nemeses for Batman.

Anyone who thinks ledger didn't deserve an oscar for that performance is clearly just trying to stir it up on these forums. It was perfect as a performance if you disagree then don't bother me with your trolling ways. Yes your entitled to a point of view but it will be wrong.

It doesn't mean to say they're trying to stir it up at all and doesn't mean they're out to troll just because they disagree with what others think.
As for the bit in bold, that's you're opinion! and for the record imo it was a very good performance but personally i'm not bothered if it wins an oscar or not.

There is a difference between people not liking Ledgers performance, and people quite clearly trolling. There are at least a couple of troll posts on this thread

Probably the best thing about TDK is how Nolan had the balls to give Eckhart's Harvey Dent such a huge role when a simple Batman vs Joker thing would have been where 99% of writers/directors would have gone with it.

I thought it was so great in the way it encapsulated everything about Batman and packaged it for a huge movie audience. Both Dent and The Joker were 100% right, brilliantly portrayed.

As much as i liked Heath Ledgers performance as the joker, I think Aaron Eckhart's performance as Harvey Dent just stole the show for me, I thought he was brilliant.

I still think Heath will get the Oscar though deserved or not.

I love Jack Nicholson's Joker; the take worked perfectly for Batman '89 and the time period the movie was released in.

But I also love the emotional depth that Heath Ledger gave to his version of the Joker character.

I like both versions, for different reasons.

I have liked all the different live action Jokers. Cesear Romero, Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger. Each was great for the period they were playing them in.

Ledger has the edge for me because it was a really dusted down version. None of the chemical vat mutation stuff. I found his Joker very menacing.

Which version of the Joker I like best depenRAB on my mood and what kind of "Batverse" I want to watch that day (vintage, campy, gritty...) so I just say I like them all on the same level but each one for very different reasons.
