Everything in life has an end (well, except Coronation and Eastenders
) and ultimately you reach a point where things just naturally run their course.
The main problem with TV right now is a complete dirth of creativity - That mainfests itself in the over reliance on trash TV and game shows, but it also manifests itself in shows that have clearly run their course but never, ever seem to end.
I'm all for getting rid of shows like Heartbeat and The Bill if it means new drama will be commisioned. We'll find out in due course if thats what ITV intends doing. In the meantime the BBC should follow ITV's lead and get rid of Casualty and Holby.
