I was wondering if anyone feels their heart skipping? I have had mine checked out and the doctor says there is nothing to worry about but i worry about them all the time. I am in panic mode each time i get them. Does anyone else do that. I have had them for years and I still cant stop worrying about them. :(

I am in complete empathy with you on this.I have taken an anxiety pill for this
type of situation. It is Ativan(Lorazapam),and worked wonders for me.It can be obtained through a family Dr.It is a controlled drug, but that was of no consequence to me.That is,it was not addictive in any fashion.I know a professional who takes it every day, before she goes to work, as a full time counselor.I have depression, and take Paxil (CR) for that, and have a heart mal-
function, called Atrial Fibrillation.I take Atenolol and for that.I had a
mini-stroke a few years ago.I was lucky that it only lasted one day.I take Coumadin ,to thin my blood hopefully to avoid a major stroke. For my dizziness,I take Meclizine, and I am doing pretty good with that.Dizziness is very difficult to get rid of,since I probably have an inner ear disorder. The balancing system is,
I believe, located in the same area,(between the ears),so this is a complicated
problem.I am a senior citizen, and have been very lucky. Good luck. Bill

I have had this for years too - the feeling of my heart skipping. I went to the doctor who told me there was some name for them and that they're harmless and happen to everybody but only some overviligant anxious people (like me!) actually feel them happening. I think coffee and alcohol and stress can make them worse.

It might just be heart palpitations. They are fairly common, and even people in perfect health get them sometimes. Does it feel like your heart kind of flutters? or just beats irregularly?
