Health Insurance Question?

So I'm looking to sign up for a new health insurance plan. I typically visit the doctors office only a couple times a year and am quite healthy so don't expect to be hospitalized at all since I'm only 22. The plan I'm looking at is from kaiser...

The Deductible 40/3000 NM plan has a $3,000 deductible and low monthly premium. $40 copay for preventive care and office visits, and $10/$35 copay for generic/brand prescriptions (all not subject to the deductible). No maternity coverage. It has a monthly rate of $132.

Since I don't visit the hospital often this seems like a decent choice. $40 copay for office visits and $10 copay for prescriptions which is all I plan on using it for anyways. My question is since it has a $3000 deductible would I still have to pay that $3000 even if I never use the services such as (hospitalization,x-rays, surgery, and emergency room visits) which all apply toward the deductible, or would I just be paying the $132 monthly rate along with the $40 copay for visits/$10 copay for prescriptions??
