Im 22 years old and as of late, I have been having some rather worrysome health issues for my age.
First off, let me state, I was a very heavy drinker for the last 4 years (about a fifth of vodka everyday for a majority of the duration) and have recently began sobriety (95 days!). What began this issue was a lump in my neck that grew from the size of a pea to about about the size of a dime. It's on the right side of my neck (backish) and its painless. I had it checked by a Military Doctor (i'm in the Reserves) and was told that I have scoliosis which is causing a swollen lymph node to show more. However I had it for 3 months at that point and no biopsy or testing.
Fast forward to about 2 weeks ago, I had been having blood in my stools for about 2 weeks so upon the advice of others, I went to the ER. Along with those symptoms were/are weight loss, loss of apetite, chills, nausea and general weakness. Scheduled a colonoscopy in which they also did an endoscopy to see what was causing the nausea.
I've been told that there is nothing worrysome about my colon, but that during the endoscopy, my esophagus was red so they took a biopsy. I was just coming out of sedation, so no further detail was given and I don't meet with my GI doc until Sept. 13 to find out the results.
My lymph node is still swollen, I still have the nausea (on and off), weakness, loss of appetite and chills (also on and off). Does anyone know what the heck could be going on with me? I'm getting ready to deploy and really don't need health issues in the way. Does anyone have any experience with painless, swollen lymph nodes for long periods of time? Any advice or experience is greatly appriciated. Thank you
