headsets with microphones?

I thought the point of a headset was to have both headphones and a microphone in one. It probably won't play videos and music like a speaker will, but if you put it on your head like headphones it'll...play in your ears?
 
Okay so recently my speakers break down. I am planning to get a headsets with microphones (for skype) in the near future..
My question is will the headsets act as a speaker?
when i meant act as a speaker,i want to know if when i plug it into the pc,will i be able to listen to youtube videos?
hear to youtube videos in my ears
