I have just ordered a new head unit for my 1997 fiesta and just had this horrible feeling that i will need an adapter to connect the ford conector to the head unit, is this true or will the sony adapter plug straight into the car?
you most likely need a wiring harness you could just cut the wires on your car plug in and match them to the cd players wires but that would be very time consuming and a mess so yea you should ge a wiring harness the usally sell for around 10 bucks
