I just found out that the head gasket on my 1994 Toyota truck failed.A while back the timing belt snapped (at 86,000 miles). At this point The entire head and head gasket where replaced **.
My truck is at 146,000 miles and the head gasket went out again(only 60,000 miles later)?!
The tech (who i trust very much) said that the head itself had corroded and allowed water/coolant to get into one of the cylinders.
Does anybody know how in god's green earth can a toyota (of all brand names) have a cylinder head/head gasket go bad just 60,000 miles after having a head/head gasket replaced?
I do not mistreat this truck whats so ever.I change oil every 5,000 miles(owners recommends every 7500).I runs SEA FOAM once every 3-5 tanks.I run 89 octane.I only use Pennzoil oil.I use fram oil filters. I use this truck for service calls. This truck is my livelyhood.
**About the timing belt snapping at 86,000 miles.I bought the truck in 1992 with 53,000 miles on the odometer. After purchasing this truck, I discovered that the tires had flat spots, and later some of the seals started to leak. The first owner let this truck set for (at least) one extended period of time.
