"He was granted bail (by the judge)" & "She bailed him out of jail" - Aren't they completely different ideas?

@Bob - But she would be doing something pretty useless, because isn't the idea that the amount of money acts as a collateral to keep the offender on the hook, to ensure that he comes back to jail at the set date?
