I thought this show was far superior to the original- HOWEVER, it was meant for the fans, not the kids; that was obvious.
Every episode, they basically just introduced more characters that we grew up with. Brought back fond memories for the fans- little kids on the other hand had no freakin' clue who these characters were, and weren't as likely to stay interested.
Another problem that happened- and I actually have to feel sorry for Mattel for this one- MOTU sadly seems to be the ONE franchise where fans can't let go of the past, and won't help Mattel in understanding the modern day base.
One unfortunate consequence of this is they WILL NOT ACCEPT that MOTU is likely more of a following now with fans than it will EVER be with kids, again, and they pester Mattel into doing anything to get kids back into it...then when Mattel tries to cater to the kids a little bit, the fans scream bloody murder that it's too kid-ified.
And believe me- MOTU fans come up with THE SINGLE WORST excuses on how it can pull in kids that I have ever heard in my life. Poor Mattel.
But yes, I loved this series, and wish it would've continued, very much.
