He doesnt like talking about the army..?

He's an old "friend" last year i was a freshman & he was a senior. & he's both in the army & my school's ajrotc. Whenever i asked him about the army to get some info he'd changed the subject and once told me to pls not talk about it. I understand that he's prolly not allowed to tell anything..? And he hasnt been deployed so ik he shouldnt be talking about the blood he saw and stuff lol. Which he didnt. Also he's in AIT now. im a little confused if he did basic training before his senior year how is he doing AIT just now?I just want to know why he's like that does he hate me or something lol . Btw thts 2 questions.
 
Honestly he did nothing he was just a wages clerk and what he is doing is just building in your mind he did something important and dangerous, he is just a knob and is embarrassed about his inactivity you don`t need friends like him
