I just got a 9242 hooked up and I have a good HDMI to DVI cable that I was using with my 6100. Is the HDMI to DVI adapter that Bell ships good enough or should I use an aftermarket one? I dont use the audio portion of the signal, only Video. Will I notice any difference in picture quality?

Thanks,

If the signal gets through, there will be no difference in PQ. The one that ships with the 9242 is fine.

Cables are one of the biggest money grabs out there. Don't waste your money on $150 cables, 99.9% of the people can't tell the difference.

However, some cables, particularly wihen you have adapters or converters, pick up external "noise" and cause interference. Going with a single cable (not a cable and adapter) or a cable with more shielding can reduce the noise.

Most likely though, the cables and adapters that came with it are just fine. The only way to know is to hook it up and give it a try.
