Having trouble connecting to net with Wii

Its such a pain right now. I double-checked all the settings.. the manual wants me to assign a static IP for the Wii and do all this other bs, I thought it was supposed to be simple? lol. If I can't do it, how can the next computer illiterate person do it?

Anyway, I may try again later.. or take off my WEP for an hour. I'll just have the usual MAC filter on I guess.
 
it was so fucking easy. i just looked for a connection, it found my network, and i just put in a WEP and it was all good
 
I fixed it, yay!

All I did was go into my Linksys router settings and switch the channel to 11. Hope this helps anyone else who may have the same prob.
 
man, my wii has been updating for 1.5 hours now. Its almost complete with the wii channel stuff. Im on a dsl connection too. Maybe i have a weak signal...
 
hmm...maybe its because everyone is downloading new content right now. I haven't even got to a user agreement yet .

I almost reset the system, that would have sucked.
 
didnt work mines a linksys too and its on channel 11 has a mtu of 1500 auto obtain dns and ip how do you know what security it is? wep no matter what?

I dont know my password for security either
 
shit, someone teach me how to do this


Mine connected last night & I bought some games, but I was using someone elses signal. My wii is literally 3 feet from my router and it always says there is an error when trying to connect.
