i have a 92 ford explorer v6 that is making a rattling noise when i first start giving it gas.only for the first 1000 rpms does it make this noise.its a rattling noise and it only does it when im in gear.not when when im in neutral. it sounded like it was the exhaust but i couldnt find any problems on it.it sounds like its coming from the engine but im not sure.i dont thing its a piston because the sound goes away after i gas it for a couple seconds.also there is no smoke or anything like that.and it still has all of its power.any ideas on what this might be would be greatley appreciated.thanks
i forgot to add that the exhaust had some bolts that were missing at a spot rite by the trannie.there was even a gap whear the exhaust met with another piece of the exhaust.so i tightend the bolt and it looked like it closed it up pretty good.but there is another bol on the top that is roken and im going to have to pound it out to put a new one in.so could the exhaust not being properly sealed at one spot be causing this noise?it doesnt sound like its coming rite from that spot on the exhaust but close......no check engine lights eather
