Having problems with my Verizon HTC Droid Eris... (speed dials, favorites, ect.)?

I just got my HTC Droid Eris about two weeks ago, and I've all ready been having problems with it. When I first opened my phone and used it for a few hours it was working perfectly fine. Eventually my phone said that there was a soft ware update (at least that's what I think it was called) that was ready to be downloaded. After I downloaded that update my phone has been acting kind of weird. For example... Whenever I add a contact into my 'favorites' group the contact always winds up disappearing after about an hour. I have 5 contacts in my favorites that have been there since before I downloaded the update and they are the only 5 contacts that actually stay in my favorites! Also when I try and edit my speed dials I have encountered some problems. Whenever I try and add a speed dial it never saves. I hate to have to act this question on here but my phone didn’t come with an instruction manual. Please help me!

These are a couple reported problems with the Eris update.. To fix them, go to Settings->Applications->Manage applications and find the apps for dialer and contact storage, and for each of them, select Clear Data. If that doesn't work, take it into Verizon and say that those are known issues with the update, and there should be a fix listed in the Verizon Support Forums for the Eris- the forums are where I found out how to fix it..
