Having Problem With Yamaha Motif and Cubase! Help?

hello, im new to using a yamaha motif xs6 with cubase on my computer and im having a small problem. Well first of all..my motif xs6 is connected to my pc via USB cable and all drivers and software is properly installed. The Problem im having is when i record a midi track on Cubase, the voice(instrument) for some reason is ALWAYS the grand piano. ill have it on drums or strings on my motif but cubase will play the grand piano. any clue how i can fix this? thanks alot
