I am having a problem with my 2000 Jeep Cherokee 4.0 L Limited. On the instrument cluster the security light stays alwais on. I did check the all fuses and relays. It happened when my friend tried to check the oil sensor with ground after what the engine cut off and neverfired up again(it crancks but no fires up) and lost communication with ECM. Now there no communication with ECM. In case if I will buy a used ECM from junk yard what I have to do to activate a ECM? And what about immobilizer control unit and the key?Thank you for all of you!

I've never done anything with an ECM.
I'm a member of a Cherokee forum (it's free) they have saved me tons of time and money from experience. You should sign up and post this question there I promise you'll get a straight answer because I don't think it's going to be as bad as you think.
