Hi everyone,

I don't know if I can get through this or not the depression is overwhelming and all I want to do is feel better and get a drink. Upon the myriad of stressors in my life, I have decided to stop drinking now on top of that I have an interview tomorrow.

I've decided to go to AA but I am really scared as I always thought I was in control of this and the tears just flow at the thought of what I have become. I can't find my world anymore, I can't sleep I guess Klonopin is helping with the tremors but...I don't know I just don't.

Thanks for listening,
Adia

Adia:
Good luck with the interview, talking with others who have experienced what you have is always helpful in discovering what is normal. I suspect if you are scared, you are more in control of this thing than you think - sometimes, being scared means you are beginning to live rather than feeling fearless and just going through the motions.

HELLO!!! to all my peers who are having a hard time. getting used to the real world like my self. i'm going through some hard times to but i just keep my self really busy everyday. i find other stuff to do and i don't sit around thinking about all the crap i done. cause my thinking is what got me to this point! i'm no angle! and i'm not perfect either!! but i have some good advice if anyone wants hear about them.i've been through crap and back to but i've learn alot of stuff doing it and it was hard to except alot of it. we're not the only one having a hard time with our problems. the only thing that i can say to all my peers is one day at a time !!! and if you do this things will work for you . don't try to push it all at once cause it won't work! we wish it would but it don't happen like that over night it takes time for things to fall in to place. so far i've found out life is getting better for me cause i have 4 mos clean from the booze !!! and 3 day non smoking!!! but that me not everyone.stay busy and don't sweat the problems and everything will be alright!!!

Hello Adia - as the others said, it takes time and you are overwhelming yourself with fears that you can handle. Stay busy and keep your mind occupied to get over the worrying part. Plan for your interview and I do hope that goes well. Going to AA meetings will help you get answers and the support that you need and immediate help if you have a problem or urge that you need to talk to someone. They can answer specific concerns that you have. Good Luck!!
