Haven't had my period in 3 months and produced a negative pregnancy test, what is wrong?

I have made an appointment to see the gynecologist, but won't be able to see her till december 15th because of their busy schedule. I am really worried that there is something wrong with me. Since I started my period when I was in 6th grade I have sometimes missed a month or two, but I have never gone this long without having one. Does anyone know what this could be? or suggestions. Please don't tell me to see the doctor because I already know I need to do that and have already scheduled my appt.
 
well sometimes pregnancy tests can come out negative cuz there isnt enough of the pregnancy hormone detected in your body. might wanna take another one. if it comes out negative there may a more serious problem and i hate saying it but you might just have to hold off until you see the doctor...
