Have you taken astronomy in high school?

I am stuck on choosing between AP Biology or Astronomy for my final year in high school. I am very interested in learning beyond what we have on earth. However, I am afraid that Astronomy might not be as interesting as I think it is. If that will be the case then I will have missed the opportunity on AP Biology. Could I get the same benefits from reading books and researching online about astronomy as taking the class. Please tell me how your experience was.
 
Astronomy will be as interesting as you and the instructor make it interesting. Check out the teacher. Is the teacher interested in astronomy outside of school? Or was the instructor assigned to teach it because they had a choice between monitoring detention hall or teaching astronomy? If the teacher loves it, chances are excellent you will have a rewarding class.
