Have you replaced your CAT equiped headpipe? Re-tune required?

If you replaced your CAT equipped headpipe, and you made no other mods at the time, did you re-tune? I'm considering replacing my headpipe with a non-cat model and am hoping I won't have to put it back on the dyno until I do cams down the road....

I have Fuel Moto's 2-1-2 headpipe with Monster Ovals and do not have a tuner. I see no issues so far. I do have the stock air filter.

Interesting Question.

I replaced my headpipe to get rid of my CAT before I took it in for Dyno Tune but than realized the Probes he used to measure the AFR were screwed into the 02 Bungs which were both before the spot my CAT used to be.

Since he measured before the spot the CAT would be I dont know why it would matter?

Im NOT an expert with Dyno in any way but unless he measured the AFR past the point of the CAT not sure the system knows if you have a CAT or not?

Some 02 Bungs are drilled after the CAT so maybe those are different?

I just installed the V&H Power Duals to get rid of my cat. I already had the Monster Ovals with a stage 1 a/c and a PCV with a dyno tune. I had expected to have to do another map with the power duals but it seems that is not the case. It runs cooler and with a lot more spunk than I had ever hoped. I got a map from a site sponsor and compared it to the current map on my bike and they're almost identical. I thought the bike might have run a little leaner with the change but (at least with the map I have) it's running extremely well.

you change head pipe and mufflers at the same time and it will be ok. it when u change out the a/c to a stage 1 then u got heat problems. i was told if u do a stage 1 flash down load to do the 110 down load its more fuel then the 103. the 103 is still lean my wrench told me this. hope this helps.

Does taking the cat out and changing the pipes.... well not the pipes I guess but cat mostly do anything to your warranty??????? or does it stay intact

I already had the stage one flash, nightstick slip-on and heavy breather and changed to the Rinehart xtreme true duals and havent had any issues. Runs strong and much cooler!
