Have you received a new Smart Card from Bell?

To i hate tv again:
Of course many if almost all of the CSR's are unaware of this!!! Tech2s are basically people with no tech knowledge who undergo a 4 week training + 2 weeks of "academy" which means taking calls with people helping them with their calls. Personnally, without wanting to brag about anything or whatever, I read alot about general satellite tech info outside of my job. I guess I would represent about 2-3% of all Exvu CSR's out there...I sometimes puzzle Tech3 agents. Although having a background in film making and audio-visual tech stuff helps alot...! And guess what? I had coachings by my team manager because I spend too much time with my customers trying to help them...because yes, we are monitored on the time we spend on each call.
Anyways, end of rant, I'm a bit "drunk" and my job puts a lot of pressure on me. I will try to help people on this forum as much as I can, because some of Exvu's policies are plainly a pain in the ass. I'm just sick of taking sh*t in the name of a company I hate. But hell, it pays the bills.
Have a nice uh...night. lol

I got my new cards yesterday. They are the first i have ever had as my 6100 and 9200 were cardless up until now

Everything on the 9200 was a breeze, the 6100 wouldn't bring all the HD channels around without a phone call

i had to call Bell for a technical problem (on my 9242) and asked them at the same time about the card swap.

Since I sold one of the 5900 I owned and I wanted to be sure that there wasn't a card in the mail that would come in a few days and that I would have to call the new owner to follow up.

To my surprise the CSR was able to verify himself and give me the answer. He said I was no one of the "targetted clients" to do the swap yet... He didn't explain what it takes to be "targetted". I guess I would have to keep all info just in case I become "targetted" and need to give the new owner the card!!!

1-9200
1-5900
2-2700

Needed 2 rehits to get one of my 2700 activated, the other ones worked all fine. Was able to do it all online.

For those that already have recieved their new cards, just curious as to What city you live in, and how many IRD you folks have. I haven't received anything yet. Also.. Im curious. I have a 4100 in my garage thats not hooked up. In the summer im going to be running a line in there so i can hook it up permanently. So the problem is when the cards come, can i still activate the reciever card after i do all my inside receivers? or will i get screwed over with that one since theres no sat feed on it right now? I could bring it inside for a bit and hook it up after one of my other IRD's are activated if that changes anything.

I received my 6 cards and started with the 9200 PVR (was cardless) i have. All was fine for about 8 hours, then it went to the "Your smart card is inserted incorrectly". Tried all the usual, nothing, called into tech support and after jumping through all their tech loops, they said "we will have to send you another card, that one is bad/defective".
Never-the-less, I was PO'd, to say the least, that my HD PVR was now down (took a week to get new card).
So, after this learned lesson, I swapped the rest, 1 at a time............

1st 4100 - swapped without a problem (previously cardless)
2nd 4100 - bad card, new one on way (previously cardless)
1st 2700 - bad card (stayed on aquiring signal), new one on way
2nd 2700 - swapped without a problem
3100 - swapped without a problem

So, their wonderful card swap has a 50% failure rate, alone in my house, due to bad cards, etc. I wonder where the quality testing and/or tech funding goes within the Bell organization? And about the only person with a brain and tech savvy is the tech managers/supervisors (besides 1 other girl we had on phone). He actualy reset the 4100 that had a bad card swap BACK TO THE ORIGINAL CARD number, and our programming was enabled back on that receiver.

TIP:
So if any of you have a bad card, Bell may be able to re-activate receiver with your old card, until the new one comes. Wish I would have known that when my HD PVR went down..........LOL

lol, targeted, gee i hope that means bev doesn't have anything pointed at my house, other than their satellite.

2 X 3100
1 X 2700
1 X 6100
1 X 9200

No call yet
Haven't upgraded yet given the experiences some of you have reported
If this is not a N3 upgrade, what's the point of the card swap?

Recieved new smart cards today. Installed and activated and had both receivers up and running in about ten minutes. No problems so far.

Oh for heavens sake.

Every three years you get a new credit card and you probably have to destroy the old one and phone the 1-888 number to activate it.

Do you expect a credit card company representative to come by the house and do the same thing? (it's a rhetorical question, don't answer)

Please lets get back to the discussion of whether you have your cards or not.

Still no cards here either, 5200, 9200 & 3100 on the account.

Will I also get a Card for the 3200, that is on my account but not active.?
Or should I hook it up and activate it, so I DO get a card, as I don't want to come to use it a few months from now only to be told I have to buy a Card.? Any idea's.?

Received my cards last Friday and inserted them in my receivers, phoned the number that apeared on my screen and made 1 call, all receivers were activated in 3 minutes, all channels were back in 15 minutes. I see no difference in viewing, I have no clue why we needed these card in the cardless receivers to start with..........
