UPDATE:
The lawsuit against NDS (and Chris Tarnovsky) for hacking Nagravision is over.

This is interesting
Who was that?

I think this is as good as it gets a reason for BeV to part company with the compromised Nagra... If securing their system is the goal.

can someone plz tell me on what channel is the above card swap vid located in da programming guide? I've searched the entire guide for 10 minutes and can't seem to find a single clue.

Received cards here as well. The 9200 required an extra restart. The 6000 required unplugging for the new card to "take." The 9242 required no card.

I also received a card for a 6000 I no longer own. I upgraded it on the web site anyway. The buyer scammed me by pretending to be a legit customer to get a good price. The receiver was never registered so it was probably hacked and/or sold on eBay. I am hoping it quits working. :D

The audio drops on HDNet are not (directly at least) swap related. This issue has been reported elsewhere and affects non-swapped receivers as well.

wyldk9 - According to the info you posted, it is actually 40% not 50% LOL

Anyway, I wouldn't expect Bell to test every card that comes in. If you had to buy and ship 10 million cards would you test each one or take the chance? However if the failure rate is high, I'd stop sending them and send all remaining cards back to the company I purchased them from......

The 5x00 pvrs software is being updated according to receiver number, not all have the updated software yet.

The card swap video on youtube shows a 9200 with software E634

A bit off topic, but Dish Network has also announced plans of a swap to take place later this year.

i heard that the new cards require you to be hooked up to a phone line for two-way communication...is this true?

After the breakdown of various receivers yesterday, a member posted about an apparent card swap (details here )

I had no idea that another card swap was going to happen. It won't be necessary, according to the Bell FAQ's shown below, for the new 9242 and 6141 receivers.

So Have you received a new Card from Bell?

My 6100 has been freezing frequently with the new card. 3100 and 4100 have been fine though.

Hello,

L2666 I' m curious as to how the cardless receivers will be able to just rev update and thats it. Being that they are the same chip that is on the 102 card. If they can just rev update and thats it then why cant the 102s. I imagine you got quite the number of phone calls a week or so ago when BEV did a TSOP update and screwed up a lot of receivers. I heard that TSOP update was to enable the CAM slots on the cardless receivers so they can take the new card. If they do just do a rev update on the cardless receivers it leaves then pretty open for unlocking by pirates, being that all the current REVs are compromised and unlock able.

I' m not trying to prove you wrong or insult you, I' m just curious as to how this is possible. If the ICAMs just rev update then that is also saying that the ICAM stream will be staying active and since it has been completely dumbed, then a FTA receiver would just be able to emulate that instead and still be running.. I dunno..

I'm just saying that if it came down to it, the CRTC is going to say 'do another swap', just like they did before. They have complete authority to do so.

The failure rate amongst older receivers is VERY high. 2700's do not seem to like this new Card.

but when you receive the replacement card and do the switch, don't you still require the old card as part of the swap out sequence? I remember having to reinstall my old card while "upgrading" to the new one.

Word on the Street is N3 has been compromised in Europe. While this is good news for hackers, they can test anything until N2 is shut down...But, it does not sound like they are worried.
