...that book? ok, this one time I beat halo 3 on legendary. At the end after masterchief destroy's halo then masterchief and cortana are heading toward a planet called onyx. I heard it is a forerunner mechanical planet with trillions of sentinels. So does the halo book, halo ghost of onyx take place on the planet masterchief and cortana land on at the end of halo 3
 
I read the book a while back. Yeah, the planet was a forerunner construct. It's existence was kept secret by the UNSC, and was used as a training ground for the Spartan IIIs.

It might be possible. The planet itself gets is destroyed, but the chronology of the book and Halo 3 are so close together that the planet may have still existed at the end of Halo 3.
 
i think so, i only read the first chapter or two of the book, but there are no two planets named Onyx. Onyx had a military base on it, when forerunner droids became active so they sent the spartans in if i remember correctly.
