Have you ever felt like you had a part of your history die with the passing of an icon?

I was an only child, and always felt very awkward. I was lucky enough to have great parents and some really good friends, but never felt 100% comfortable being myself. Often, I got myself lost in the world of movies and music.

When I was 8 I got a Michael Jackson album for the first time, and became obsessed with it. Like most other kids in my 4th grade class. But I REALLY was obsessed with his music, and did everything I could even then to get my hands on as much of his music as possible.

At times, I was a little too into this world, mimicing his moves and knowing every nuance of every song he had. But, looking back, it was the one thing that always made me happy and provided me a refuge from the everyday world which I had a hard time handling.

Sometimes, when I got into my teen years, I battled depression and even more intense feelings of awkwardness and lonliness. The one avenue I always felt comfort in was Michael Jackson's music.

Time marches on. My obsession diminished. I'm still awkward as hell, but I have a much better idea of what I'm about.

But, during those teen years, I'm not sure I could have made it without the soundtrack of Michael Jackson to help me.

I know what has transpired over the past few years, and I'm just as disgusted by some of Michaels behavior as anyone else probably is.

But tonight, I'm absolutely devestated. I feel like I lost my best friend from childhood.

Sorry if this isn't enough of a question. I just needed to talk.

Hey Jackpot,

that was nice of you to share a little about your actual self!

Although I feel like we're friends I know very little about you.

It is sad that he died. He was part of our generation when we grew up.
I remember rollerskating to billy jean.

I'm sorry you're sad sweetie!! I really am!!

((((((((((( Jackpot )))))))))) I heart you lots!!!

I really loved the Thriller album, and some of his early stuff was really great. He sure turned into a weird dude, but I'm not sure anyone ever proved he was a child molester. I'm also not sure Tyson was a rapist. Some people will do anything for money. It's very sad that he did not survive and make a comeback. I remember that Venus Williams once said she loved his music. You're in good company.
