Have you ever felt angry with an author for what they did to a character?

lulu - lol I have an image in my head now of a disgruntled she'devil seeking revenge with misuse of Topatio sauce :)

I definitely have. Read a book not long ago where the author let the two main characters demean a secondary character. Not like the girl was a villain or anything, she played their maid in the book and seemed to be no reason for it. When author's throw in characters just for filler to get more words out of the book it's aggravating. That's different than characters who are used as a red herring to keep us from guessing the identity of a bad guy too fast.

in the Hunger Games I just plain did not like the end or the rest of the story. I don't think it was that well thought out at the end.

YESSSSS in the "Angels in Pink" Series when Lauraline McDaniel kills hunter it made me MAD!!! lol

yes. in twilight i was angry because smeyer did NOTHING with her characters. she didn't even deem them worthy of a personality, let alone a plot.

Yes, in the last Guardians of time book, one of my favourite characters in the end (I won't give it away) is given a very rough deal and in comparison to the others he pulled the short straw even though he had been through the most traumatic experiences in my opinion.

Yes, many many many times. in the Harry Potter Series, Bridge to Terabithia, Message in a Bottle, the Uglies series, and more. lol but in the end, I understand that it can't all be happy endings...

Yes, I was hacked off with the way Douglas Adams killed off Arthur, Zaphod and Ford, as if he was just fed up with them. Apparently he agreed, he said he was going through a depressed time at the moment, and was working on another book when he died.

I also felt Philip Pullman was harsh the way he separated the two young heroes of 'His Dark Materials', but it seems he is planning on making amends in a sequel.

I sure have. In Harry Potter I was really angry with J.K.Rowling for killing Fred and Snape off in Deathly Hallows. I was like 'no' and cried for both of them. However, I found it quite "poetic" in a way that Snape died because, even if he had lived, he'd never had had the life he wanted (i.e. with Lily) and was therefore "reunited" with her (even though she loved James) after he died. It seemed kind of fitting in the end.
