I was running on the track tonight and me and this girl who was running alone got stuck behind this very slow couple. As I was running up beside this girl she looked at me and unlike most people she gazed longer than a split second, but more like two seconds. I had my headphones in and I wanted so badly to take them off and just say something charming and sweep her off her feet. She was beautiful, but instead all I did was look back at her and then looked away nervously. It was funny we both kept going back and forth trying to let each other go around the slow couple, but finally I had to go on ahead. I was beating myself up the longer I let her walk behind me without me saying hi, but I never did. Would it have even been appropriate to say anything?
