I live in chicago,IL. The service is new here. I wanted to know how the service is as in sms, mms, and web? I was reading about the htc phones being flashed and working on cricket. Will the web and sms work on the htc touch pro when its flashed? I was also reading on BB for cricket and only old models work. Does anyone know if the storm or a curve would work with cricket? Thanks in advance.

that area is a AWS network to make it more spefici and AWS uses 1700Mhz band while that phone and most phones use 850/1900Mhz

and no it will not work on T-Mobiles AWS 1700 network as it is something differnt

As Cellkeeper has stated, Chicago is an AWS market. This means there are only TWO carriers who use this sprectrum, Cricket and MetroPCS. And then there are only certain phones that will work as neither carrier has fully converted their entire lineups to AWS phones. Fortunately, that is changing. I don't think any tier one carrier is moving to AWS. Most if the are investing money in the new LTE technology.

So, most phones that are being flashed here will not work in any AWS market. You will have to purchase a phone from Cricket or flash a MetroPCS phone to use in the Chicago area. I'm sorry to have had to kill any hopes of the really nice phones on the market that Cricket does not carry.

Hopefully, with Cricket moving into a high tier 2 carrier, they are making massive changes to their lineup to reflect the more data intensive phones the public is wanting.

I have been a Cricket customer since before it was Cricket and I can tell you they have come farther than you will ever believe in 14 years I have been with them. They are still growing and adding more and more devices, maybe even a Blackberry.
