Have horror films always been like this?

There is a Bollywood remake, and it is amusing. :) I just can't take it seriously when they are in horror mode and suddenly burst out into song...
 
I thought it was only Hollywood who feel the need to squeeze every idea dry. Didn't know Bollywood was into remakes as well.
 
They do quite a lot. Unfortunately. The American remakes look like masterpieces compared to the remakes I've seen from Bollywood.
 
What about They? (a "presented by Wes Craven" one that doesn't seem to be very well known)
