Have a small painless pimple on the back of my neck, please help!

I know I should see a doctor(and I will) but I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out what this is or at least try to. I have a small pimple like bump on the back(towards the left side) of my neck that's pink, painless without any pus...so it doesn't really look like a pimple. It's jut a little bump sort of looks like a mosquito bite but it's flatish. It's been there for about a year now, I just thought it was a pimple that would go away. I just did some research and read that it may be cancer, I am so scared and having so much anxiety. I'm too young to die. I should have worried about this sooner but it didn't get any bigger and I don't have any anywhere else. But one thing I do have is night sweats at times but NO other symptoms, no fever, weight loss, or anorexia... I am having some worries about my new job coming up but not sure if that's it(unless it's early menopause, I'm only 33 and was on the bc pill for 6 years straight but went off of them in November). Could anyone relate or help me out with what it could be, I am freaking out so bad right now. Could this kind of thing be cancer without any other symptoms(although sometimes I wake up sweating)? I am so worried that I may just go to the ER, I am so scared right now I can't stand this. I don't know what to do with myself. I have a 6 year old girl that needs me.

Jess,
So you can hopefully get some sleep tonight, from what you describe, this "pimple" bump thing does not sound like cancer. Especially since you've seen no changes in a year.
Skin cancers do not usually remain stationary- they grow in size and/or color..or they become painful and/or itchy, or they can bleed or they ulcerate... i.e. they usually change over time.

Since I'm not a doctor I can only give you my layman's opinion.
However, it's always a good idea to see a doctor if anything concerns you, if for no other reason than to alleviate your anxiety!

Well signs and symptoms of hodgkins is a painless lump(s) and night sweats, so I was just getting very worried the more I thought about it. I guess I'm just looking for ANY comments or even answers from those who had the same symptoms as I do.
Thank you for the response, I really appreciate it....I'm trying to sleep but can't stop worrying. If I didn't have episodes of night sweats, I wouldn't be too concerned.

A Hodgkins painless "lump" is actually an enlarged lymph node--It is not "pimple"- like, so it doesn't in any way sound like the superficial skin bump you mention.

As for the night sweats, these are more common in young women than you might imagine. They can be caused by relatively benign disorders like hormonal shifts in the body, including thyroid dysfunction.

See your doctor if they continue. That you feel fine apart from this is a good sign.
