'Hattie'- Starring Ruth Jones....when is this being shown?

I like the other types of carry on: Camping, Abroad, At your convenience, Doctor, Dick and Matron They're bawdy and always raise a smile with me. 'Carry on Cabby' is a cracker and, unusually, doesn't have Kenneth Williams in the cast because I think he was in a pay/doing Rep. Most of the above have dear ol Hattie in them.

Carry on Emmannuel isn't as bad as England and even has some LOL moments. It's just not a traditional 'Carry on' and the title theme song's not bad.
 
From what I've read HJ's real life was absolutely fascinating. As for your suggested comedy shows, most of them are, in my opinion, ghastly. Even Harry Hill, while very funny at first, has now settled on a stream of catch phrases to replace good writing.

The Hattie film is based on a biography which came out a few years ago. it's a fascinating read, and reveals Hattie to have been as lovely and warm as we always thought she was.

She had an adventurous lovelife, and the film is set in 1963, at the time of Carry On Cabby. Check out this AWESOME pic, with Marcia Warren as the glorious Esma Cannon:

Another one who can't wait for the screening too - love the Carry Ons, I could watch one that I'd seen a few times already and still be laughing!
