Hatch door won't stay up 1988 jeep cherokee?

Is there a way to adjust the little shocks or something to keep my rear door from falling on my head every time I unload groceries on my 1988 Jeep Cherokee?

You adjust them with a check book or a credit card. They are a throwaway item available at almost all chain auto parts outlets...

No there is not. Need new gas arms. Or you can carry an appropriate sized broom stick.

The little shocks that call the door open are called door struts. You can buy them in most auto parts stores. Should run you around $30 for the pair.
