Has this led to choking fears?

Has anyone diagnosed with acid reflux, LPR, or suffer from this - has it led to choking fears? Or even worse, not able to eat anything that requires a lot of chewing by yourself, alone? How do you deal with that?

Seems like I didn't want to eat when I first got real sick because first of all I thought I would choke and even felt like food was being thrown up to my nose. I was supposed to sit up for 4 hrs after eating and I'd rather lie down than sit up that long so I just didn't eat. Lost 50 lbs but after I figured out I wasn't going to die and my stomach got better, I started eating and gained a lot back. Now with more LPR symptoms, I can't tell any difference in when I eat or what I eat. Occassionally, I will get a choking feeling and need to drink something to get it down. I wish I wouldn't eat so much and lose this wt again! You may need to add a motility drug along with PPI.

Hi CandP-

My first choking experience came from eating a tator tot. Ive had that "lump in the throat" feeling, but i figured chew 32X and i'll be ok. Nope. it was the first real solid food i had tried, and it failed so i didnt do it again. I'm just thankful that my sister happened to be there and had just finished her first aid course. Now im back to soft/liquid fooRAB.

A couple of years ago everything that I ate felt like it got stuck in my throat. I was so terrified, I thought I was dying. I didn't eat and lost 18 lbs. Slowly, little by little, I started introducing soliRAB again and now I can eat anything again. And I gained those pounRAB back.
Unfortunately, now I seem to have LPR symptoms. Now I'm afraid of choking not on food, but on mucus and saliva. Back then I could just avoid eating soliRAB, but you can't avoid swallowing for long! So it's even worse now. I don't know what to do in order to swallow saliva normally again. Sigh.
