Has the War in Iraq been the biggest hustle in world history?

The Oil Industry has made [and continues to make] BILLIONS UPON BILLIONS as a result of this invasion. Record Profits.....

So do you think this was simply an unintended consequence OR was this in fact the biggest hustle in world history??
lemon.....Because the anti-war people keep saying war is for profit it's automatically not true.....hmmm. not following.
gheba......didn't ask who was safer as a result?? I asked whether or not the record profits that were made were planned for or unintended. This question has nothing to do with when (or if) the US leaves Iraq only what has happened since we've been there.

Close to 300 shot and killed this year and it isn't even November yet. a lawless population. A small minority hates America. Yes we SHOULD get out of Chicago. It is safer to be in Iraq than in Chicago. We were in Germany and Japan for over 60 years to keep the world safe. What makes you think that leaving Iraq after only 5 years will make the world and America safer? Oh and Yes there were WMD's and we do know where he sent them. We are just not ready to go after them YET!
 
I think it's in the past and the intentions of it no longer matter, what matters is we have troops fighting and dying there... more than 5 years later.
 
By all means the war in Iraq is the real "Oceans Eleven". Masterfully accomplished based upon fear and blind loyal; without questioning authority. May President Bush and Vice President Cheney live with their decisions and may America recover from their mischief.
 
No that would be WW2. How do you think we went from being just another country into the richest country in the world in a span of 50 years?

Who do you think supplied the Europeans with weapons?

Who do you think rebuilt their continent when it was nothing but a pile of rocks?

War is for profit, this is the same argument used in every American war since at least the Mexican American war i was reading historical anti war writing in the 1800s and early 1900s even WW2 so basically the anti war crowd has made this claim for every war hmmm.....

**I did not say it was automatically not true, its just a standard point made by people that have wanted to see the US fall every time in every dispute.

Maybe in the leftist rose(or should i say red) colored glasses this claim is true and there is a lot of reasons why the US should NOT have gone into Iraq but that's 20/20 hindsight
