With credit checks and background investigations being the norm in the job market have we openly allowed ourselves to be subjected into classifications of haves and have nots? While it is illegal for employers to discriminate if you admit to driving infractions or criminal charges or even pour credit they will still overlook your application because of these things, even though they say they dont. The law is that as long as they discriminate acrost the board evenly they are not doing anything wrong. So this law against discrimination is really to protect the employer not the applicant. Our nation has allowed this to create a class of people that have no past mistakes as the higher class getting mostly higher paying jobs and people with a couple mistakes as middle class having to take any job available and the untouchables that cant find anything more than minimum wage if that.
Has the old social classes been exchanged for a different type of discrimination?
