This is not a partisan question, if you can't deal with that go back to slobbering over your Keith Obermann or Rush Limbaugh poster.

One of the criticism against Obama is that he left the construction of this bill (and the stimulus bill for that matter) in the hands of congress, Pelosi, Reid, Baucus ect. And because of this apparent "lack of leadership" Obama and this country is in the state it is.

Now the problem with that statement is that congress is supposed to write the laws, and Obama is supposed to approve them. These are the fundamental roles of the legislative and executive branches.

So this "lack of leadership" could be seen as Obama trying to ahere to the constitution in this regard. And the idea of Obama writing the legislation only to approve of it himself seems to make a mockery of the separation of powers.

And yet the criticism of Obama as lacking an active role in the construction of the legislation remains.

So are these pundits just wrong? Is the constitution poorly constructed when it comes to dealing political parties, or is Obama just too soft.

And my second point, separation of powers idea is broken, then what do we do about it. Other then keep one party from getting both the legislative and executive branch.
