I agree that the state of american animated theatrical films have certianly improved since the 90's, yeah. Because back then, we really only had two studios producing several high quality films; namely Disney and Pixar (and Pixar only released three films throghout that entire decade...). Nowadys however, whereas Disney's output has as we all know declined, Pixar is still creating masterpieces and several other studios are creating very enjoyable films as well. Of course, throughout the 00's, in my opinion, a bit to many films trid to follow Sherck's lead and make pseudo-edgy (meaning, edgy for being a family film) comedys ripe with pop culture parody. But thankfully, that trend seem to be dying out a bit. So i believe that this new decade could very well end up being even better than the last when it comes to american animted films, and thus actually be the best one so far.
