Has pop culture gotten out of hand?

I almost think the paparazzi have become like the plague in the past few years. Crotch shots, swarming celebs in their cars...What do you guys think?Do you think some aspects of celebrity lives should be kept private? Should there be legislation passed giving photographers guidelines and standards as to what photos they can and cannot take? Some paparazzi hitch rides on helicopters and hover over celebrity homes..
Crotch shots, swarming celeb`s cars so they can`t get out. How about Princess D?Her fatal run in with the paparazzi, could that of been prevented?

Yes, but it is nothing new. But hovering over people's homes, etc is too much. Yes, they know what they are in for to some extent, but maybe not. And that does not make it right, just because they know it can happen.

But I have seen things about stars as far back as the silent era and at least some of the time they were pursued by the press. When Charles Lindbergh's baby was kidnapped and murdered in the early 30's the press was constantly hounding him and his family to the point he left the US for England.

I sometimes wonder how stars and other celebrities can even leave their houses. But some seem to like all the attention.

But there are stars who manage to work but stay out of the tabloids because they lead quiet lives off camera. Then there are those like Paris Hilton whose only claim to fame seems to be from the paparazzi. And some like Britney Spears who start off with talent or at the very least a career and it degenerates into paparazzi mania.

WE ARE BUYING "OK" "US WEEKLY" "LIFE & STYLE" AND ALL OF THE OTHER PAPARAZZI'S TOP CLIENT MAGAZINES AND SUPPORTING THEM. IF THERE WAS NOBODY BUYING THEM, THERE WOULD BE NO MARKET FOR THEM AND THEIR PICTURES

Yes it has- in many more ways than just the paparazzi.

BUT, to play Devil's Advocate, these stars know that dealing with the paparazzi is part of the job long before they accept it and become famous.

So, it may be crappy for them, but I don't think it's any different than the crappy things you and I may have to do in our jobs everyday.
