Has obama picked the worst time in history since 1929 to be a black president?

Most of his time and effort is being spent repairing the damage from the Bush years.

Economy is shot
2 wars
biggest national deficit in history

Can he do anything of significant in his two terms apart from shovel dirt back into the hole created by Bush

I think that if he had come to power in 2000 then we could have seen his true potential
 
Naw He did it just cuz he wanted to be da first negro president of the u.s...daz it... But he doin a B job at it..AM pretty sure something is gonna go wrong
 
I kind of believe so, because if he "fails", he'll be President Black man who screwed up. I mean to some, I think others will look at it just as it was, that he came into a screwed up situation that will take MANY years (more then he'll probably have) and LOTS of effort to pull us out of.
 
First off, realistically, Bush did not create as much damage as Clinton.

And although I do not support Obama at all, this is probably the best time to have a black president because compared to 1929, the US is rather liberal. Also, we have the liberal media bias on his side, so if he was a Republican black president, that would have been another story.
 
no it could turn out quite good. The crisis is expected to end in the next year and a half... if this does happen obama will be seen as the man who turned it around. (even though in my opinion it would be the work of thousands of people rather than just one)

and even though bush was an idiot but I don't think he can be held soley responsible for the state of the economy.
 
He didn't pick a bad time. American's simply shouldn't be ignorant racists. This problem is the racists problem. I'm not racist, so it doesn't bother me at all that he has dark skin.
