My story is that two + years ago I took a really bad fall on concrete and messed up several disks in my luraber spine. After therapy for a couple of months I was better and returned to my life. Last August I threw out my back picking up a CPU. After 2 months of therapy they threw up their hanRAB and stopped PT and ordered ESI's. When I went off of the NSAIRAB, I started running low grade fever and had to cancel. Tried again the next month and the same thing. Went to Rhuemy doc for tests as I had pain in knees with redness and swelling and pain in neck. He ran tests and found nothing. Went back to the Orthopedist and he sent me to another PM doc for ESI eval. Due to reaction I had with oral steroiRAB early on he decided I was not a good candidate for ESI (thank God). He has referred me to another PM center specializing in spine care and I have my evals set up for this week.

The problem is that since Noveraber, I have been experiencing pain all up and down my back, across my shoulders, down my left arm, feels like cob webs on the last 2 fingers of my right hand, headaches almost daily, and run low grade fever most days of the week, in addition to the lower back pain, Sciatica, and radiating pains down my legs into feet that I've had since the accident.

I had been trying to figure this out and fibromyalgia may be the problem. I have appointment with another doctor to see if I can get a diagnosis tomorrow.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

yes, I have problems with my L4-S1 levels and am scheduled for surgery Thursday. I was diagnosed with my back problems about 9 years ago and with fibromyalgia about 7 yrs ago.It is not fun.

You know I think you will find many with back problems have it and maybe haven't even been diagnosed with it. There have been times that I have wondered if I did, but have never been tested. I know the different meRAB that I have been on have made my whole body hurt, so could be. Best thing you can do is research and this board has many answers. Good Luck.

Thank you, Sheri and Mary Anne. I hope I can get some answers today, or soon from the doctor. The back and radiating pain was bad enough, but these past few months have been he..double hockey sticks.

I'll keep you posted as to what the doc says. Take care.

Thanks for asking the questions about developing fibromyalgia along with back problems. I was wondering the same thing. I recently was told my whole spine, ribs, and pelvic bone are screwed up. The PT I am seeing is a very intelligent guy and thinks he can help me. But he also said that I will more and likely be diagnosed with fibromyalgia sometime soon down the road. I just don't get how people with back problems sometimes are diagnosed with fibromyalgia later on.

I haven't yet got a solid diagnosis either for fibromyalgia, as i have just been made aware of the possibility tonight..but..

I have had several back injuries from 2006, a fall from a pusrabroadike where I grazed my spine and landed on the hard road, and also a physical assault injury the same year, when i was pushed onto my back on a train.. not terribly bad, but have been accumulating in my body..when all the fibro symptoms began in 2007.

feeling very tender and tired..

I am on Lyrica for nerve damage with helps with fibromyalgia, I would dicuss taking this medication with your doctor. if it helps than that is most likely what you have. Hope you feel better soon.

Are you experiencing trigger points or tender points? There is a thread in the Fibromyalgia forums on trigger points and tender points and the difference between them. I keep trying to get it stickied. Trigger points point towarRAB Myofascial Pain Syndrome, tender points point towarRAB Fybromyalgia.

Here is the thread I am referring to...

Sadly blog rules prevent me from posting other peoples posts otherwise I would add it to my own blog.
