I think its a really good movie and story. It has teached me to never be racist (I never was) but gave me more strength for anti racism.I really want my friends too watch it ,so they can change from there very disgusting racist behaviour towards blacks and Asians.

I know what you mean about wanting to change your friends opinions but some people are what they are. I've known racist people who have seen this film and rather than take the anti-racist message that comes with the film they only seem to remember the 'bite the curb' scene. Everyone takes something different away from the movie so don't be too upset if it doesn't have the desired effect.

It was more than just a film about racism. It was about hate in general, and the emotional baggage we willingly put on ourselves even when it hurts us and the people we love.

A brutal, but very good movie with a strong anti-racism message. Edward Norton (as usual) was phenomenal. I commend you for wanting to have a positive influence on your friends. If you do get your friends to watch it with you, I encourage you to use it as a platform for discussion afterwards. Ask them what they thought the central message of the movie was and what they think of the message. Oftentimes discussing something helps to reveal one's own prejudices and/or biases. Self-revelation/awareness is one of the most powerful tools for change. Hopefully they'll begin to see the need for change in themselves and can then act upon the conviction.

Good luck to you in your endeavor.

I saw it, great movie, too bad most of the racist in my town are blacks and Asians so the movie wouldn't help.

the message is there. the problem is one person can't teach another not to be racist anymore than 20 people can. sadly, that's all i have to say.
