Has anyone used the Cricket $45 warranty/exchange program?

I'm just wondering what condition your phone was in when you brought it to the store... My phone had three drinks dumped on it the other night - I was able to rinse the phone out several times and dry it thoroughly, and it works fine, but the outer screen lense is shattered, the keypad has some small creases in it from pulling it out and putting it back in, and the little water dot sticker under the battery cover is long gone. I'd like to get an new phone, but there isn't much info on the Cricket website in regarRAB to what kind of prescreening they do in the store before they ship the phone back to the mfg...

True story: I had my Audiovox 8900 thrown into a swimming pool. Once it dried, I was able to use it just fine.

I went to exchange it for the insurance, and told the lady on the phone that the problem was "lens rot"--in which gunk gets INSIDE the lens as to make taking pictures blurry for good.

I was able to get the phone exchanged for a newer Audiovox 8910 at the time.

I have never had a problem trading-in a phone to Cricket. My second trade was my KOI because the lens cover got lose. That was considered a factory defect and only cost me $10 to exchange. My most recent trade was my Slider Remix because I lost it after it fell into an air duct! :o

I have since found the old phone (covered in black crud), but it doesn't work because they remove the ESN nuraber from their system when they de-activate the phone.

I think whatever you tell them when you go to get the insurance claim, they take your word for it and don't ask any questions. I mean, why should they? You ARE paying the insurance.

if your phone shipped with a moisture indicator and it is missing they will most likely reject it. any physical damage other than minor scratches and they will also reject the phone. if you are lucky you will get an idiot rep that will replace the phone for you, but don't count on getting the $35 deposit back. just be happy with your new (refurbished) phone.

There is a difference between insurance and warrenty exchange!!

Insurance is $4.95 a month and no matter what you get your phone replaced
Warrenty exchange is just that, it has to be a defect in the phone and will cost you $10 or $45 you get a credit for $35 if its a defect!!! However with warrenty exchange they might not send it in if the phone is bad, you know
