has anyone used Pro-Start Push Button on their car or come across them?

i have a 1975 MGB GT and have seen one of the Pro-Start Push Buttons on the internet - i am worried that this will make the car easier to steal - how do they work ? is there any security to them or is it simply a case of getting in the car and pressing go! ?
